“I believe therapy can be a space where we bring our whole selves—including the parts of ourselves we may have learned to hide, question or make smaller—and explore our experiences with curiosity, compassion and honesty.”

Working Together

I work with people navigating trauma, relationships, identity, grief, shame and experiences of feeling different, misunderstood or disconnected from themselves. My approach is relational, strengths-based and client-led. I believe you are the expert on your own experience, and my role is not to tell you who you should become, but to create space for us to explore what you have lived through, what you are carrying and what feels meaningful to you.

As a fat, Black, queer, non-binary and neurodivergent person living with chronic illness—and as the parent of a neurodivergent child—I bring parts of my own lived experience to the way I understand difference, belonging and the complexity of moving through a world that does not always make room for the fullness of who people are.

I value creativity, authenticity and the freedom for therapy to take different forms for different people. Together, we can become curious about the parts of you that may carry pain, protection, fear, shame or uncertainty while also making room for joy, connection, self-understanding and the possibility of living more fully as yourself.

Areas of Focus & Approach

Areas of focus: Identity and self-understanding; LGBTQ+ and trans experiences; neurodivergence; trauma; relationships; grief and loss; shame and guilt; chronic illness; belonging and self-acceptance; experiences of oppression and marginalization.

Approach: Relational, strengths-based and liberation-focused therapy incorporating Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work and a decolonized perspective. Em’s approach is client-led and creative, with space to explore the parts of ourselves we may have learned to hide, protect, question or make smaller—and what it might mean to relate to those parts differently.
