“I believe therapy can be a place where people feel supported in understanding what they are experiencing, recognizing the strengths they already carry, and developing tools that help them feel more confident navigating their lives and relationships.”
Working Together
I work with children, adults and families navigating anxiety, emotional challenges, relationship and family stress, life transitions and experiences that can leave people feeling overwhelmed or unsure of what to do next. My approach is warm, supportive and practical, with an emphasis on helping people recognize their existing strengths while developing new ways of understanding and responding to what they are experiencing.
My background in child welfare, healthcare, schools and community-based programs has shaped my understanding that people’s challenges rarely exist in isolation. Family relationships, culture, school and community experiences, and the systems people interact with can all affect how they are doing and what kinds of support may actually be helpful. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and I bring an awareness of culture, language and family experience into my work.
As a mother of two, I understand that family life can hold joy, responsibility, stress and competing needs all at once. Faith and spirituality have also been meaningful in my own life, and when these are important to a client, I am comfortable making room for them in therapy—while always allowing each client to determine what role, if any, spirituality has in their therapeutic process.
